Organic Mānuka Honey Festive Roasted Nuts

Honey, spice, and everything nice… We love make these at Christmas time and make a great homemade Christmas gift (if you can resist eating the whole batch yourself, of course!)

Cook time: 15 minutes
Serves: Approx. 12

Ingredients

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C. Line a large baking tray with baking paper, and set aside.

  2. Add the nuts into a large mixing bowl.

  3. Gently warm honey in a pot until it melts.

  4. Remove from heat and add cayenne pepper, cinnamon, and salt and stir until combined.

  5. Pour honey mixture over the nuts and mix well until the nuts are well coated.

  6. Place the nut mixture onto the prepared baking paper lined tray and spread out evenly.

  7. Bake for approximately 15 minutes, until the nuts are starting to turn a golden brown.

  8. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with brown sugar and salt, let cool for a minutes or two.

  9. As soon as you can safely handle the nuts, without burning your self, remove from baking paper on to the baking tray and break the nuts apart. Allow to cool completely before storing in an airtight glass jar.
